Cat Purrs Ten Hours

Description

The low rumblings of two kittens purring for ten hours in this ambient sound byte. Twin cats, Bonnie and Clyde were recruited for the mission which was fun and challenging to record. Microphones were placed under a blanket the cats lied down upon. Hours of the recorded purring were then edited and mixed in the studio creating an ongoing purr from one cat on the left and one on the right speaker optimizing the effect for headphones. The rumbling was deeper and more pronounced than I had imagined due to the sonic phenomenon of the proximity effect accentuating more low end frequencies.
