Description
Brown Noise, also called Brownian, Random-Walk Noise or Red Noise, is a low-frequency ambient noise with significantly more low-frequency bass than its sonic counterparts like White or Pink Noise. It has more energy at lower frequencies than pink noise and decreases in power by 6 dB per octave. The result is a sound with a “damped” or “soft” quality, reminiscent of a low roar, a waterfall, or heavy rainfall.
This low-frequency sound is great for masking other sounds in your environment and can be used as all-night sleep audio. It rumbles like a train passing in the next valley or a spaceship from a science fiction movie.
To get the best listening experience, your playback system must be capable of decent bass response. Laptops, phones, and most tiny speakers or earbuds will not faithfully reproduce the predominantly low-frequency audio. For an earthquake in your living room, listen on a home stereo with a subwoofer, but be careful not to damage your speakers! The product includes both one-hour and ten-hour downloadable MP3 files.
