What is Red Noise ambience? It is a low-frequency emphasized ambient sound known to create a relaxing mood for many listeners. It is a favorite spaceship sound effect that has been used in science fiction since the 1950s.

This noise has more low frequencies and fewer high frequencies than White or Pink Noise. Its intensity diminishes by 6dB per octave across the listening spectrum. The sound’s light spectrum equivalent would be close to infrared.

Red Noise is also known as Brownian noise, named after Robert Brown who documented random particle movement. A third name is Random Walk Noise. Interestingly, when combined with White Noise, Red Noise will produce a sound similar to Pink Noise. This product is available in one-hour and ten-hour downloadable MP3 formats.
